Point 30: Animatic of Your Storyboard

Point 29: Sound Planning for My Movie Clip

I believe that the sound of the opening of my movie is very important and if done correctly will help to enhance the entire movie. I am planning on using a mixture of soundtrack and foley sounds within my opening scene. I believe it is important that the sound I use is both diegetic and non-diegetic.The use of non-diegeteic sounds helps to set the theme and create the pace of the movie. Whereas the diegetic sound helps to keep the scenes realistic through using it as normal background noise.

Due to my movie genre being about independent music I am going to use this type of music to support independent musicians, I believe this will enhance the movie as it will create a direct link between the storyline and soundtrack. I believe that the opening scene for a movie is very important and sets the tone and pace of the rest of the movie.

If you are using a sound track you must use copyright free music from here http://www.freeplaymusic.com/

The opening scene to my movie is going to be backed by a song so it is important that I use copyright free music that I am going to choose from www.freeplaymusic.com as it has music that you can legally use.

Point 28: Aural Diagram

This is the aural diagram I created for the opening minutes of 'Ferris Belier's Day Off'. Creating this has helped me to realise the importance of preplanning the sound for my own opening sequence and just how affective it can be. It has inspired me to try and use some foley as well as a soundtrack to create a realistic environemnt.

Point 27: Storyboard

This is my storyboard that I created with the help of https://www.storyboardthat.com. This is an outline of what the opening of my film will look like. There may be slight changes due to set and weather but for the most part it should end up like this.
Update:
There has been a clear change to my opening sequence as I have decided to scrap the dream sequence as it may come across as cheesy. I have chosen to only focus on the bedroom scene so that I can creatively include my titles.

Point 26: Investigation of Narrative Theories

Point 25: Storyline of Whole Film and Brief Synopsis

The synopsis of my film is based on the life of a eighteen-year-old teenager who lives a normal verging on boring life in a small village along the coast of Scotland. Music is the protagonist’s passion and dream for the future along with her fellow band mates. The film shows the journey and struggles of a small time band trying to break through and be heard by more than just their little village. At the same time spin offs of adolescent issues appear as hurdles for the protagonist including relationships, school and social life.
Act 1
Establishes the main characters and their relationships and personality. This begins with the first scene when the protagonists waking up in their bedroom after having been dreaming about performing at a large concert venue. This is followed by the stark reality of the characters plain and small bedroom. Following this the protagonist meets up with her band mates at a local café. A discussion entails about their upcoming gig.
Act 2
Suddenly the protagonist’s first hurdle arrives with his love life interfering with the bands rehearsal schedule and his concentration on her band mates. A fight entails and the band split up.
Act 3
Romance is blossoming and multiple scenes of the couple together occur. However the protagonist is conflicted about her current stance with the band. This is a scene of reflection and thought where the protagonist thinks about their actions and life in the future.
Act 4
Reconciliation takes place with band mates and relationship breaks down. Band starts practicing again. While ex partner grieves and is left alone.
Act 5
Final scene involves the band performing at a gig. The protagonist’s partner is in the audience and eye contact is made. All seems to be resolved and the protagonist is back on track to their dream.

A 18 year old senior school student is struggling to balance her band and love-life during her senior year at school. The band has been together since childhood and at the end of their school careers hope to be an established, notable band. However like most teenagers drama begins to present hurdles in the form of the protagonist’s love life. This leads to tension within the band when the protagonist is spending less time with his band and more time with their partner. The ups and downs of the bands journey through their senior year is portrayed through their desire to become a recognized band.

Point 23: Updated Ident for Production Company

I decided to change my ident as I felt that my other one was too short and was hard to read in time, whereas I believe this one is clearer.
